Family Court and Child Custody?

This time can be extremely tough and emotionally exhausting, often leading to a sense that there is no hope in sight. It's crucial to recognize that the judge, the child's lawyer, and family Lawyers all share a common goal: ensuring that the child is in a safe environment, that is free from addiction and its resulting behaviors.

If you are struggling with a drug or alcohol issue and are seeking custody of a child – for weekends, shared custody, or full custody—you will not succeed unless you demonstrate that you have significantly addressed this problem and can prove it to the judge.

Merely attending a few 12-step meetings or participating in a couple of generic counseling sessions may not demonstrate to the child’s lawyer or the judge that you are genuinely committed to confronting your addiction.

We will supply your family lawyer and the lawyer for child with attendance and progress reports over the course of a month that can significantly influence the outcome of your case.

Often, we see less than ideal outcomes in court cases, not due to the family lawyer’s abilities, but because the client was unprepared and did not engage in a treatment program and follow the lawyer’s instructions.

It is vital to enroll in a treatment program before your court date to achieve the best possible result on the day of the hearing.

The ideal is that you are enrolled in a rehab program or have completed the program before your court date.

Your family lawyer will often provide you with a list of jobs to do before court – these MUST BE DONE.

We can assure you that if these tasks are not completed, your lawyer will not be amused, nor will the Judge.

We will help you with this and make sure your tasks are completed on time.

If you don’t have a lawyer, please contact us, as we have contacts in this area.

Please be aware that we are a private clinic and charge for our services.

Additionally, not all of the family lawyers we recommend provide legal aid.

It’s advisable to hire an extremely competent family lawyer and enroll in a rehab program now to achieve the most favorable outcome.
